John Dall is a wealthy American whose relationship with Modesty extends beyond the occasional adventure. He is one of the recurring figures shared by the prose and newspaper worlds.
In Ivory Dancer, his Kentucky racing establishment becomes the setting for an adventure involving Samantha Brown and a stolen racehorse.
The newspaper adventures also bring him into Yellowstone Booty, Butch Cassidy Rides Again, The Girl from the Future, The Young Mistress and Durango. References to him are kept separate from appearances where the available reading notes distinguish the two.
